How to Forward Calls on Rogers (Mobile & Home Phone)

1. Introduction

Rogers is one of Canada’s largest telecom providers, offering a wide range of call forwarding options for both Rogers Wireless (mobile) and Rogers Home Phone customers. Whether you're expecting an important call, travelling, in a meeting, or simply want to redirect calls to another device, call forwarding ensures you stay reachable at all times.

In this article, you’ll learn exactly how to activate, customize, and cancel call forwarding on Rogers devices. You’ll also discover which types of forwarding are available, what the ring limits are, and how to troubleshoot issues.

2. What Is Call Forwarding on Rogers?

Call forwarding lets Rogers automatically redirect your incoming calls to another number—your second phone, your office line, a colleague, or even voicemail.

Rogers supports the following types of call forwarding:

1. Unconditional Call Forwarding (Forward All Calls)

All incoming calls go directly to the number you choose. Your phone will not ring.

2. No-Answer Call Forwarding

Your phone rings first. If you don't answer after a certain number of rings, the call gets forwarded.

3. Busy Call Forwarding

If your line is busy, calls are redirected automatically.

4. Unreachable Call Forwarding

Calls are forwarded when your phone is:

  • turned off
  • out of coverage
  • without signal

These features apply to both mobile and home phone services depending on your plan.

3. Rogers Mobile – Call Forwarding Codes (Wireless)

Rogers uses universal GSM codes that work on iPhone and Android.

Forward ALL Calls (Unconditional Forwarding)

Dial:

***21PHONE NUMBER#**

Press Call.

Example:

*216471234567#

Forward When No Answer (Conditional)

Dial:

**61PHONE NUMBER#**

 Forward When Busy

Dial:

**67PHONE NUMBER#**

Forward When Unreachable

4. How to Cancel Call Forwarding on Rogers Mobile

5. Rogers Home Phone – Call Forwarding (Landline)

Rogers Home Phone provides very simple forwarding controls using star codes.

Activate Call Forwarding

  1. Lift the handset.
  2. Dial *72.
  3. Enter the number where calls should be forwarded.
  4. Wait for confirmation tone.

Your calls will now go directly to that number.

Activate No-Answer Forwarding

Dial: *92

Enter the phone number.

This forwards calls after 4 rings by default.

Deactivate Call Forwarding on Home Phone

To cancel all forwarding:

Dial *73 and wait for confirmation tone.

6. How Many Rings Before Rogers Forwards the Call?

On Rogers Mobile:

  • Default: 20 seconds (~4 rings)
  • Cannot be changed manually
  • Can sometimes be adjusted by contacting support

On Rogers Home Phone:

  • No-answer forwarding is fixed at 4 rings
  • Not user-adjustable

7. Billing Notes for Rogers Call Forwarding

Rogers may charge:

✔ Airtime for forwarded calls

✔ Long-distance charges if forwarding to a non-local number

✔ U.S. or international forwarding fees

Forwarding to Canadian mobile numbers is usually included in unlimited plans.

8. Call Forwarding Issues & Troubleshooting

Problem: Forwarding doesn’t activate

✔ Make sure call forwarding is included in your plan

✔ Confirm that you entered a full 10-digit number

✔ Turn off Wi-Fi Calling temporarily

✔ Restart the phone after enabling

Problem: Calls still ring on your handset

You may have activated conditional instead of unconditional forwarding.

Use *21NUMBER# to override.

Problem: Calls go to voicemail instead of forwarded number

You must disable voicemail or disable conditional forwarding codes (##61#, etc.)

Problem: Forwarding stops randomly

This can happen when:

  • SIM cards are swapped
  • Phone updates occur
  • Network resets your settings

Simply reactivate using the codes.

9. Best Practices for Rogers Users

  • Always test call forwarding by dialing your own number
  • Use unconditional forwarding for business calls
  • Avoid forwarding to international numbers unless necessary
  • Keep your voicemail settings aligned with your forwarding rules
