How to Forward Calls on TELUS (Mobile & Home Phone)
1. Introduction
TELUS is one of Canada’s largest telecom providers, offering mobile and home phone services nationwide. Call forwarding is a key feature for staying reachable when you are busy, traveling, or simply prefer to have calls redirected to another number.
This guide covers all types of TELUS call forwarding, including activation, cancellation, number-of-rings settings, billing, and troubleshooting for both mobile and home phones.
2. What Is Call Forwarding on TELUS?
Call forwarding allows TELUS users to automatically redirect incoming calls to another number. This can be a second mobile, a landline, an office number, or voicemail. TELUS supports four main types of forwarding:
1. Unconditional Forwarding (All Calls)
Every incoming call is redirected automatically. The phone does not ring.
2. Forwarding When No Answer
If you don’t pick up after a set number of rings, the call forwards to the chosen number.
3. Forwarding When Busy
If your line is in use, incoming calls are redirected.
4. Forwarding When Unreachable
Calls are forwarded if your phone is off, out of coverage, or in airplane mode.
3. TELUS Mobile – Call Forwarding Codes
TELUS mobile phones use standard GSM codes compatible with iPhone and Android devices.

- Can sometimes be adjusted by TELUS support
Home Phone
- Default: 4–6 rings
- No manual adjustment without contacting TELUS
7. TELUS Call Forwarding Charges
Forwarding calls may incur charges depending on your plan:
- Canadian mobile numbers usually included
- Long-distance forwarding may be billed
- U.S. and international forwarding may incur additional fees
Check your TELUS plan for details.
8. Troubleshooting TELUS Call Forwarding
Problem: Forwarding does not activate
✔ Confirm your plan includes call forwarding
✔ Enter the full 10-digit number correctly
✔ Restart the phone after entering the code
Problem: Phone still rings even after forwarding
✔ You may have activated conditional instead of unconditional forwarding
✔ Use *21NUMBER# for unconditional forwarding
Problem: Calls go to voicemail instead of forwarded number
✔ Check your voicemail settings
✔ Disable conditional forwarding if necessary
Problem: Forwarding stops after a while
✔ Can occur due to SIM swaps or network updates
✔ Simply reactivate the codes
9. Best Practices for TELUS Users
- Test forwarding by calling your own number from another line
- Prefer unconditional forwarding for important business calls
- Avoid forwarding to international numbers unless necessary
- Align voicemail settings with your forwarding rules
